Questions Answered
DOES IT COST £35? HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO SUPPORT WILDLIFE RESCUE?
The cost of delivering Wildlife Link varies, but we currently aim to work with a wildlife hospital to provide resources valued at £300. Sometimes we may work with a wildlife hospital that asks for specialised equipment, the building of an enclosure or staff and volunteer training which can be more. So for us to deliver life saving resources it can be between £300 and £1000, sometimes more.
WHAT IS THE PHOTOGRAPH OF?
We aim to make sure, where possible, that the picture on the certificate is the hospital you wish to support. If we are unable to (because quite often wildlife hospitals are people’s own homes) we will provide a logo or an image of the wildlife the hospital are caring for. To keep administration costs to a minimum, we link the same hospital up to 10 times. The likelihood of seeing the same image in someone else’s home or business is extremely unlikely, but you may see your link in our promotions.
HOW MANY TIMES IS A PHOTO USED?
How Wildlife Link works is that we try to deliver resources directly to the wildlife hospital we are supporting. So we can get a chance to take some snaps and then use these photos on your certificates. We do also ask the hospital to send us pictures to keep costs down. As I’m sure you can imagine, there are lots of logistics involved in getting the photos, that we cover within our running costs. Even with the costs involved in getting photos of wildlife or the hospital, and then the cost of the frame and postage etc – we think it’s important that WildAid sends out physical certificates to everyone who links – as it actually becomes a really low-cost way of spreading the word about our work. This way we are able to increase the impact of the funds raised, without increasing the costs of letting people know about Wildlife Link in the first place.
CAN I VISIT MY wildlife hospital?
Wildlife Link is a fundraising initiative , and those who benefit are aware of Wildlife Link. We highly value the relationship between wildlife rescuers and communities, and we always aim to work in a way that is sensitive to the animals needs. Therefore, in order for any of our supporters to visit the wildlife hospital they have linked with, we would have to communicate with the wildlife hospital for permission to visit. We hope you understand that sometimes it is at the discretion of the wildlife hospital for us to arrange such trips and this may not be practicable.
HOW CAN I SEE MY wildlife hospital ON a SUPPORTER MAP?
We have a map of our supporters so that they can see the hospital they have supported (and see what’s been happening nearby!). Just follow the link to 'Supporters Map'
HOW WILL MY CERTIFICATE BE DELIVERED AND HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
Certificates within the UK are sent second class via Royal Mail. Our standard turnaround time for certificates is 5-6 days; however, you should allow up to 14 working days for your certificate to arrive after placing your order. If your certificate is for a gift and the big day is looming, please email us at info@toilettwinning.org and we’ll do everything we can to get your order out as fast as possible.
MY CERTIFICATE HASN’T ARRIVED YET!
If your certificate hasn’t arrived and it’s been 14 days or more, please get in touch. If you linked in celebration of a special occasion and need it urgently (such as a wedding or a birthday) please do let us know and we will email you a Wildlife Link voucher which you can print off and give to your friend/relative.
IS MY NAME ON THE CERTIFICATE?
You can personalise your certificate with your name and/or the name of the person you wish to be linked with.
CAN I wildlife link A FRIEND AND SEND DIRECT TO THEM?
Yes – simply select a different delivery address when going through the checkout process and enter your friend’s details. If you are linking a hospital via the post or on the phone, you can indicate on your order form or over the phone that you’d like the certificate sent to an alternative address.
OUTSIDE UK ORDERS
You can get involved with Wildlife Link from anywhere in the world. You will receive a certificate, sent via Royal Mail, and a mandatory postage charge is added to your order. The cost of linking from overseas is GBP£30, converted to your local currency. A good comparison is the exchange rates quoted at consumer currency exchange shops.
